Popular bear site, BearFilms.com, has launched Woof Cash, its new affiliate program, and is offering an extra 10 percent to celebrate. The program pays 50 percent recurring on memberships, but affiliates who sign up by Tuesday, Jan. 31 will earn 60 percent through the end of the year. Affiliates also get 20 percent on sales of videos and DVDs.

According to site owner Andy Dill, the site currently has thousands of members and an average retention rate of more than five months. “Members stay for the original and unique content they can’t get anywhere else and the frequent and plentiful site updates”, said Dill.
In business since 2001, BearFilms.com offers a broad range of furry and big men, including; young cubs, muscle bears, stockier bears, and daddy bears. The site features all original content, totaling more than 37,000 photos of 285 models in solo and action scenes. BearFilms.com also delivers more than 25 hours of streaming video from the company’s 15 videos, plus original web-only content.
“In recent years bear porn has been one of the fastest-growing niches in gay adult as more consumers search for real amateur models”, claims Dill. “Fans of bear porn run the gamut of ages and income but their focused interest means high conversions for a quality leader such as BearFilms.com”, Dill continued.
Woof Cash offers promotional content, including an array of animated and static banners, hosted galleries and downloadable content. For more information on Woof Cash, visit www.woofcash.com or contact Andy Dill at andy((at))bearfilms.com.
XBiz Video, a trade publication geared specifically toward retailers, producers and distributors of adult entertainment, officially launched this month, little more than a year after the successful launch of XBiz World. “XBiz Video was launched to satisfy the market’s demand for a purely B2B-focused video publication,” XBiz founder and President Alec Helmy said. “XBiz has had phenomenal growth over the past year, and we aim to achieve even more in 2006.”
According to XBiz Video Executive Editor Matt O’Conner, the publication will focus its editorial content on hard news and feature stories that help people run their businesses more effectively. “Don’t look for gossip and reviews,” O’Conner said. “This will be about news and analysis of major deals, launches, technology and content trends.”
Recognizing the need for some light-hearted fare, even in a trade publication, O’Conner said XBiz Video would also include stories on the personalities behind the businesses, as well as humor pieces that reveal the less-serious side of the adult business world. “It should be informative but also fun to read,” O’Conner said.
On the new XBiz Video editorial team are a number of professional journalists with experience at trade publications and newspapers, with some crossover between XBiz World and XBiz Video. O’Conner said the magazine would begin slowly, listening to reader feedback to fine-tune the magazine directly to its core audience. “It’s a matter of baby steps,” O’Conner said. “We’re starting small and being humble about it. We know it’s going to take time to gain a foothold in the industry.”
O’Conner said one ongoing feature in the new publication would be listings of new releases by genre, giving producers and distributors an opportunity to list their releases for free in the magazine, with box covers and ordering information, by uploading them online at www.xbiz.com/video.
Over the next few months, XBiz Video also will be adding coverage of the toy and novelty end of the business. “[That] goes hand-in-hand with DVDs since many retailers sell both and many distributors carry both,” O’Conner said.
XBiz Video will be distributed for free to adult retail outlets, distribution companies and production studios. O’Conner stressed that the new publication would not be a fan magazine.
COLT Studio Group returns from GAYVN Expo with smiles on their faces. According to Colt’s Kristofer Weston, the big hit of the weekend for them was the roll-out of the all-new COLT Leather line now available from Clonezone UK (soon to be released in the United States). “We were able to get input from distributors and retailers from across the US”, said Weston. Kristofer went on to report the feedback was all good.

COLT Man Exclusive Chris Wide was at the booth to sign autographs and model the new COLT Gear Basics underwear for his fans. A popular subject, with the fans, was the anticipated release of Man Country, scheduled to debut in two weeks.
Chris Wide also made a big splash at the annual Cybersocket Award Show when he accepted COLTstudio.com ’s award for “Best Video Company Site.”

Colt representatives John Rutherford, Tom Settle, Manfred Speer, Cisco Ybarra and Kristofer Weston, report having a fantastic time seeing old friends and business relations. “We all had the chance to reflect on what an amazing year 2005 has been for all of us in the business and we realize that we couldn’t have done it without your support”, said Weston.
This is one of many articles I’ll post for those of you interested in producing your own content. My focus will be more on working with the models and equipment, than dealing with the legal (2257) stuff.
Just a few words about sex toys and condoms.
I’m a big believer in model safety, even if the models are not. If you decide, as I have, to insist on condoms, then make them available. You simply cannot rely on the models to bring condoms and lube to a shoot. Nor should you expect them to.
Sex toys should be used once and then given to the model. Dildos can be purchased for less than ten dollars, so there is no reason to take chances with the model’s safety. There are issues with liability when you ask a model to use something that was never intended to be a sex toy, so I strongly discourage the use of foreign objects. Also keep in mind that some bottoms can’t even get hard without something shoved up their ass, so it’s a good idea to keep some inexpensive dildos handy.
Unless you are hoping for a little “extra”, instruct models to douche before a shoot that involves anal penetration. You should not assume the model will know, or want, to do this.

According to M:Media data, 39 percent of all SMS text users in the U.S. are adults 35+, and 69 percent of all mobile news subscribers are over 25. This is interesting data considering, up until now, all the reports suggested the dominant demographic was teens.
A lot of pay site owners struggle with the decision to accept checks. I’m talking about accepting them through a processor like CCbill. Maybe this will help you resolve that question.
While it’s true a high percentage of checks bounce, the flip side is those that do not bounce also tend to retain like mad. I believe they retain so well, because the customer never sees the rebills. Most consumers are smart enough to scrutinize their credit card bills. Checking accounts, on the other hand, do not receive the same level of attention.
How many people do you know that actually balance their bank statements?
I find it annoying that most affiliate programs do not offer their affiliates text descriptions of their sites. This material is very useful to webmasters running free sites, a links page, or blogs. If for no other reason, it would help those webmasters that speak and write English as a second language.
I can count on one hand the number of programs I’ve seen that offer even one description. And I only know of one program that offers a collection of one-line and short paragraph descriptions.
It seems like such an obvious thing to do, but for some reason most programs don’t bother.
This is one of many articles I’ll post for those of you interested in producing your own content. My focus will be more on working with the models and equipment, than dealing with the legal (2257) stuff.
A great way to create variety in your shoots is to make use of wardrobe and props. You don’t have to spend a huge amount of money building up a collection. Just make good use of thrift stores, surplus stores, and garage sales. You might be surprised what’s available for pennies on the dollar.
The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
Be aware of sizes. If working with twinks, stay with small, medium, or 28 to 32 waist sizes. Still, things won’t always fit a particular model, so the more variety you have the better. Don’t be afraid to stuff some newspaper in shoes or hats. Its not like the model is going to be wearing them for very long.
If you need to buy something new, then get the cheapest item you can buy. Quality of product is not important with props. You can get a skateboard at discount stores for about 10 bucks, and a plastic construction helmet for around 5. Also keep in mind that things don’t have to work to be used as a prop.
Best of all, these items are tax deductible. It’s the only business I know of where you can write off a dildo.
