Creating good pay site announcements

Filed under: General — Dr Bill @ 8:50 am

This is a follow up to may article from last week.

If you run a pay site, writing consumer oriented announcements, of use to bloggers, can be done with little effort. Simply stay away from the more formal style of writing paragraphs, and deliver the information in a series of bulleted statements. You don’t need to talk sexy here. Just give the facts, and leave it to the blog author to spice things up, and pull it all together in his or her own style.

Below are the types of information a blog author is looking for. This is just a guide, so don’t feel like you have to follow it to the letter.

Describe the shoot:

  • Give a general run down of what takes place in the shoot, such as this is a solo strip and jack off shoot.
  • List what close-ups were done in the shoot - ass, cock, armpits.
  • Does the shoot include a cum shot?
  • Is this a video or still shoot?
  • How long is the video, or how many photos are in the shoot?
  • If it’s an action shoot, what did the guys do - anal, oral, rim?
  • Include, if relevant, anything that is unique or special about the shoot?

Biographical details for each model:
Name, age, height, weight, eye color, hair color, cock size, cut or uncut, sexual orientation, top or bottom, hairy or smooth.

If possible, include one or more anecdotal items:

  • He’s straight but will let guys suck his dick
  • He gets turned on knowing others are watching.
  • What does he do in real life - student, mechanic, truck driver, DJ?
  • What are his interests or hobbies?
  • Include regional information - southern clean-cut boy next door, west coast surfer boy, mid west farm boy.

Other items of interest:

  • Is this the first time the model appears on your site, or is he back by popular demand?
  • Is this an exclusive shoot?
  • Are more shoots planned for this model?

Sample photos:
Include one or more sample photos that are at least 500 pixels tall or wide. Make sure at least one photo is totally censored. If a free hosted gallery is available for the shoot, then include it in the announcement.

Hopefully this gives you a better idea of what a blogger is looking for in your announcements. By using this informal style, you should be able to bang them out rather quickly. Even the lazy bloggers, that just want to copy and paste something, can make use of this. If you are worried they won’t, then go ahead and include that paragraph you already wrote for the site or consumer newsletter.

zBUCKz launches Boykakke.com

Filed under: Affiliate News — Dr Bill @ 8:15 am

zBUCKz, home of popular gay Asian themed websites Japanboyz and GayAsianAmateurs, take their niche a step further with the launch of Boykakke.com.

Boykakke.com

Combining the famous Japanese bukkake cum facial ritual, which has achieved mass success in the hetero market, with attractive Asian men as cum catchers, is a combination they think will explode. “We’re trying to make the site kind of an ‘Asian boys go wild’ for the gay niche,” says DannyZ, the site’s co-creator.

zBUCKz

Affiliates can earn up to 60% sales and rebills on all the zBUCKz sites by signing up to their NATS powered affiliate program. Promotional materials include a huge selection of banners and buttons, over 300 hosted galleries, hosted blog entries, and hosted free sites.

The zBUCKz crew also plans to release a line of DVD videos based around the new Boykakke site, to be released later this year by Asia Bootleg/CherryBoyAsia productions.

PANDO LETS PEOPLE SIMPLY EMAIL HOME MOVIES, FOLDERS OF PHOTOS AND OTHER LARGE FILES PRIVATELY AND SECURELY

PandoThis week Pando Networks Inc. announced a first-of-its-kind solution for sharing digital media - movies, folders of photos and business presentations - previously too large to send via email.

Pando is a small, free, downloadable application that lets people send large personal media using existing email addresses. Pando users can attach files of up to 1GB, creating no need to sacrifice quality with compression. With Pando, large files are sent privately, securely and directly from one person’s computer to another using the familiar and unrivaled standard for sending files - email.

Pando screen shot

Pando is the first peer-to-peer/email hybrid of its kind; Pando combines the distribution efficiencies of peer-to-peer technology with the asynchronous “send-and-forget” paradigm of email. Using expanded BitTorrent technology, the Pando application bypasses email servers and clogged inboxes to transport large files and folders directly from senders’ to recipients’ computers.

“Every computer user has experienced the frustration of trying to send large files via email,” said Robert Levitan, Pando co-founder and CEO. “Pando’s intuitive, drag-and-drop interface allows users to send personal media - files and folders - to anyone with an email address, regardless of his or her computing skill level. As a viral product with great consumer benefit, Pando can accelerate the sharing of home videos, photos and large business documents over the Internet for users worldwide.”

Pando is targeted the vast majority of people who don’t have the time or inclination to maintain a social network or don’t feel comfortable posting their personal photos and videos to a public Web site. However, this new service has real potential for those working in the adult business. One use that immediately comes to mind is the delivery of content. With this new technology, content suppliers can easily ship product to their consumers.

To use this service both parties must have the free Pando software installed.

Adding twink content feeds to gay sites just got a lot more affordable. Aimed at new and smaller gay site owners looking to offer their members some of the best-known twink content in the world, PrideContent is announcing discounts for new customers.

PrideContent.com

Both CitiBoyz Theatre video feeds and BoyzFoto picture feeds are being offered at largely discounted rates for the first six months of usage. New customers will first get a free 30-day trial period, then will be billed only $99 per month for BoyzFoto for up to 100 gb of bandwidth and $199 a month for CitiBoyz Theatre for up to 150 GB of bandwidth. That’s 50% off the normal pricing.

Working with models #37

Filed under: Producing — Dr Bill @ 7:40 am

This is one of many articles I’ll post for those of you interested in producing your own content. My focus will be more on working with the models and equipment, than dealing with the legal (2257) stuff.

Variety is an important consideration when shooting the same model over and over again. Not only will the consumer get bored, but you and your model will too. Sure, you can move your guy from one setting to the next, but it’s still the same old thing. He strips, poses, jacks, and shoots.

One good solution is to create themes using wardrobe and props. While I’m very big on themed shoots, they are a lot of work. Much more effort goes into setting them up, compared to your basic strip and jack shoot.

Another alternative is to let your model have fun with baby oil, whipped cream, shaving cream or body paints. Just make sure you have the proper environment for it, because things can get a bit messy. A big sheet of plastic comes to mind.

Of course, moving the shoot outdoors is a great way to break the monotony. Assuming you can get good locations with privacy, there’s a lot of room for creativity. A swimming pool offers endless possibilities, and a personal favorite of mine is the naked car wash shoot. Make good use of the soapsuds by having the model squeeze a soapy sponge on his chest or back shoulders. You can get some sexy shots as the soap runs down his dripping wet body.

There is another advantage in saving the more elaborate shoots for your experienced models. These shoots tend to draw more of your concentration that would ordinarily be given to the model. By working with an experienced model, you can afford to concentrate less on him and more on the creativity.

Twinkville.com VOD announced

Filed under: Affiliate News — Dr Bill @ 7:54 am

This week San Diego-based Red Apple Media launched its newest video-on-demand (VOD) website with Twinkville.com. Red Apple reports an overwhelming response with the launch of AllWorlds.tv last year, and plans for similar success with their latest inclusion.

cash.twinkville.com

“Twinkville.com offers high-quality gay adult content for fans of CitiBoyz, ThaiTwink and Pat & Sam studios”, stated Red Apple’s Director of Business Development Dwayne Custer. “If you love amateur and twink films this VOD site is loaded!”

Twinkville.com offers consumers the freedom to purchase packages as low as $10.00 with bonus dollars awarded for packages over $25. Films can be downloaded in their entirety or viewed by scene. All content is protected by Microsoft’s Digital Rights Management software.

In addition, webmasters have the opportunity to promote the site through a revenue sharing program located at cash.twinkville.com. Affiliates earn 20% of each package purchased instead of per minutes viewed.

A great tool for managing photos

Filed under: Tools — Dr Bill @ 8:59 am

There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done. A good set of tools can shorten the time it takes to accomplish many of your daily tasks, freeing you to concentrate on other things.

CompuPic Pro has been a real time saver, and favorite of mine for managing photos. The most powerful component, of the Pro version of this software, is its ability to manipulate an entire gallery of photos at one time. You can point it at a collection of photos and make a variety of changes. In one pass it will resize, sequentially rename, adjust contrast or brightness, sharpen, set .jpg compression, watermark, and rotate all the photos you have selected.

Frequently used set ups can be saved and used again, such as generating thumbnails or resizing the full sized images in a gallery. CompuPic Pro also has a separate batch file renaming utility that comes in very handy for simple batch renaming tasks.

CompuPic Pro is one of many photo management packages on the market today. If you are looking for a tool like this, it’s well worth taking the 15 day free trial.

Are your announcements getting trashed?

Filed under: General, Traffic — Dr Bill @ 9:46 am

I thought I’d take a moment to point something out to those sponsors and producers that have included bloggers as part of their marketing strategy. A lot of you are sending out weekly announcements that typically include a selection of photos and a brief description of your latest update or video. This is an important first step, but now you should be thinking about how useful and how competitive your announcements are.

Authors are the publishers of Blogs, and it is their writings that generate a following. Another way to look at it is each blog has its own unique personality that seeks to build a loyal audience. The integrity and originality of the author is critical to achieving a following, and the ultimate goal of making sales.

Accomplishing this objective begins with what the blogger has to work with. Unfortunately, much of what they receive is an informal piece that talks directly to the consumer. In the interest of saving time you simply regurgitate the same language used for a consumer newsletter, a description on your web property, or both. While this may be a time saver for you, it’s a format that’s extremely difficult to transition into a blog article.

Similar to a press release, your announcements should be structured so a blogger can easily turn them into original and informative reading. More simply put, you should be delivering announcements that have been written in third person. This one simple change in the style of your announcements represents a huge time saver for the blog author.

Right about now you are probably thinking this is not worth the effort. Well, would you do it different if you were trying to get an article published in a magazine? Would you do it different if you knew your announcements are just getting tossed in the trash?

It’s already getting to the point where there are more announcements in a week than the blogger needs. As this trend continues you will find your announcements are competing for exposure. The winners will be those that are easiest for the blogger to work with.

What will you do to get in front of thousands of consumers each week?
