When I decided to have a caricature made I figured it was going to cost me some bucks. Any custom artwork I’ve had done in the past has cost hundreds. Well, not this time! A friend turned me onto this great company in Bangkok, Thailand called Dimple Art.

All you have to do is upload a photo and one of their artists will paint you a custom caricature. Next they digitize the painting and place it in your permanent account for download. The entire process takes about five working (M-F) days. All for $32.99! And they guarantee your satisfaction. If you don’t like it, they will do it over again until you are happy.

By default the caricature is in .jpg format (1776 x 2703). I asked if they could give it to me in .psd and the next day it was ready for download…no extra charge!

They offer three levels of exaggeration to your caricature face…NO exaggeration, a little exaggeration, and over exaggeration. You can pick the level that works best for you. I had my caricature done with a little exaggeration.

The photo I used was about ten years old, so I asked them to age me a little, put some grey in the temples and add a pair of glasses. That was no problem, and it came out exactly as I had envisioned.

You can also buy products printed with YOUR caricature. And the prices are very reasonable. They will put it on clothing, mugs, calendars, mouse pads, boxer shorts, and ball caps, to name a few.

Think about the possibilities! In addition to your own caricature, you could have caricatures done of one, or more, models. I should mention that I don’t know if they will do a nude, so you should ask first.
