Effective immediately, Daniel Kaufman, better known as Danny Z, assumes full control and complete ownership of Panorama Pacific Ltd., and its subsidiaries. The transition takes place after longtime business partner and former CEO Craig Jackson sold his stake in the company, to Kaufman, for an undisclosed amount.

“CJ and I made the joint and amicable decision it was time for us to move in separate directions,” DannyZ reported. “During our five years of successful operations, CJ and I have evolved, leaving both of us yearning for independent paths. I, of course, wish CJ the very best of success as he pursues his new goals. My plans are to expand on the successful business model CJ and I built, while venturing into new territories within the industry.”

“After 5 years as CEO of zBUCKz, I felt that it was time to move on to new challenges,” CJ said. “It has been a wonderful experience to be part of zBUCKz since its inception, to see the sites grow and receive numerous awards and become recognized as leaders in their niche.” CJ went on to say, “Don’t think this means I am leaving the industry. A lot of sponsors these days are sending to their affiliate webmasters sample photos and/or videos of their latest update, along with a paragraph or two about the shoot! While I do not and never will claim to be a great writer, I can’t help but notice the misuse of exclamation points in a lot of write ups I receive!

Two of the worst abusers of this are from competing British boy sits Blake Mason and Englishlads! Perhaps the English don’t know about other punctuation options…I don’t know! That - combined with an abundance of dot dot dots…and dashes - that could often be replaced by a comma - or new sentence…and I have to wonder if some of these guys ever completed high school!

I guess I shouldn’t complain - at least I’m getting something to work with…and they make it easier for me to rewrite the text…so it’s not the same as every other webmaster’s blog post - an important SEO consideration…you know!

I doubt there are many in the gay adult biz that haven’t heard of Cocky Boys. With their recent barrage of press releases, this one year old gay porn site seemingly came out of nowhere. Some may snicker a little at his overly hyped, egotistical packaging, but self described Southern California “hipster” Kyle Majors knows exactly what he’s doing, or perhaps he was smart enough to hire someone that does.

The Cocky Boys press releases are skillfully designed to target those working in the gay adult entertainment industry, and its consumers. They are well crafted, interesting reads that deliver a powerful, all be it hyped, marketing message.

This is the work of a man with a plan, a marketing plan, something most sponsor programs don’t really have. A complete marketing plan includes a public relations (PR) strategy. While some understand this, most are clueless when it comes too properly, and effectively, execute one.

If I have to read one more press release where every quote starts off saying how “excited” someone is I think I’m going to BARF! Ninety percent of the press releases coming out of this industry are pure garbage. They are unprofessionally written blatant attempts at creating news when none exists, or delivering news that is guaranteed to put you to sleep.

While I’m not a big fan of hype, I do appreciate those that can pull it off, and Cocky Boys does just that, largely by justifying it. In talking about some recent award nominations for a few of his exclusive models, Kyle Majors said this…

“Of course they are,” said Cocky Boys head Kyle Majors. “They are all among the best, most attractive, and talented performers out there. Acknowledging your need for a good PR strategy is the easy part. It’s another thing entirely to actually do it, and do it well. Take notes folks…this guy has it nailed, and its going to pay off…on both sides of the fence!

I must admit I hadn’t really thought about this until a couple of days ago when two different sponsors send me broken FHG links. Both had redirects set up to divert traffic to a site completely unrelated to what was being promoted.

It got me thinking. Why should sponsors get to keep my traffic if they screw up and break their own gallery links? I don’t have any control over their mistakes, so why are they using my traffic for their sole benefit?

Then I realized unscrupulous sponsors could really cash in on this with a script that randomly breaks their FHGs. Similar to the way TGPs redirect surfers with traffic trades, the same could be done with FHG traffic but only the sponsor benefits. And there is no easy way I know of to catch them at it. I must say it’s made me very suspicious of any sponsor redirecting to something self serving…a BIG red flag, if you will.

While this is only a partial test, I decided to intentionally break links to FHGs from a variety of sponsors I work with. Depending on how the link was broken some retained my referral ID and redirected to something relevant, or served up an error 404 page. Others consistently redirected to something self serving. I’m not going to name names, but you might want to do this test yourself. It can be very interesting to discover who is protecting your traffic, or NOT!

Do you work in the adult entertainment industry? Are you up to something shitty? Do you make a living by doing dishonest, shitty or evil things to your business partners, affiliates or customers? If this sounds like you, guess what: you can kiss a turd!

It’s the lead in on the new KAT blog established by Keith Kimmel, best known for his junk yard dog attack on the NATS security scandal. I’ve always admired individuals willing to shake a few cages from time-to-time, provided the accusations can be substantiated, and I’m not suggesting his cannot.

That said, I think Mr. Kimmel forgets, or perhaps is unaware, that any PR is good PR, and in many cases his attacks are probably of more benefit than harm to his targeted victims. A favorite tactic of some sponsors, active over at GFY, is to intentionally have someone attack their program, with very positive results.

While many have suggested the KAT author has serious mental health issues, my take is he’s more of a dogmatist or zealot. This is a trait many in the “watchdog” biz share, although I’d like to think, in my case, its less dominant…perhaps not. It is, after all, a characteristic better identified from across the room than while gazing into a mirror.

Despite his tendency to overindulge in sensationalism or hype, I do think the man deserves a voice. We all have the option of changing channels when the programming is not to our liking. On the flip side, I think Mr. Kimmel needs to be more accepting of the bumps and bruises inherent with jousting. Everyone knows why he really got banned at GMS, and his reaction to it paints a picture of an individual far less savvy than he would have us believe.

As for the “KAT Approved Resources” link to In Gay Porn, I am appreciative. I do, however, find it ironic considering his rather vocal dislike for Intense Cash and GMS.
