Working with models #23
This is one of many articles I’ll post for those of you interested in producing your own content. My focus will be more on working with the models and equipment, than dealing with the legal (2257) stuff.
Some models will have difficulty getting hard without some visual aids. So it’s a good idea to have some movies and magazines on hand. Make sure you have good variety. Everyone has their own taste, and yours may not be the same as the model’s.
I’ve found most straight boys don’t need any help, but you may want to have something for them, just in case. I usually tell the straight guys if they need any assistance, then bring it with them. Unlike a lot of Gay models, the straight guys almost always have their own porn.
Make sure you keep the porn out of your shots, as it could create copyright problems. I happen to have some 20 year old Italian magazines that are safe to use in shoots, but most people are not going to have that luxury.
Sometimes all a model needs to do is look at some porn before the shoot starts. Many times I’ve just let the model set at my computer and surf some porn before starting the shoot. I had one model that would look at four or five pictures and tell me he was ready to go. Gawd…I wish they were all that easy.
I strongly discourage the offering of prescription drugs to assist models with maintaining an erection. There is way too much liability with this practice. If the model needs this sort of thing, he should procure it himself by seeing a physician.
